Dear Summer, I Miss You.

This poem just came to me as I was thinking about how much I love summer. I saw a picture that just said "Dear Summer, you are my favorite" and kind of built the poem around that. I hope it reminds you of all of your fun summer memories and all the memories you'll make next year!

Dear Summer,
I miss you.
I miss your sun shining on my face.
I miss your breeze blowing through my hair.
I miss the feeling of calm I get on starry nights
And the excitement that comes with each new day.
I miss the feeling of having nothing to worry about,
No tests to fail,
No projects to turn in late,
Time for the things I want to do,
And time to get them all done.
I miss spending time with friends
And meeting new ones.
I miss making memories
And laughing about the ones that have passed.
I miss dreaming of new ideas
And then putting them down on paper.
It’s just not the same without you.
Dear Summer,
You are my favorite.
And you’ve taught me something.
You always end.
But then you come back.
So instead of crying because it’s over
I’ll smile because it happened.
Dear Summer,
See you next year.
