Dear Marlow,
I am finally here at the King’s castle. Marlow, you have to come here – its majesty and splendor is breathtaking beyond imagination! The trek here was long, rocky, and hard. My legs burned, my feet blistered, and my throat was sore from ragged breathing. But it is all worth it now – and the King Himself was helping me all along. He came to my city, to invite us to follow Him. He said He would save us from all of the hurt and pain that we experienced every day. No one believed Him except me.
The gates to my city had always been open, but none of us had ever thought to leave. We were full of fears and doubts. We liked the ignorance of disregarding every wrong we committed, shoving it all into our sack of burdens. Those burdens grew heavier over time, but the King offered to replace them with His burden, which is weightless and easy to carry. I was the only one who let Him.
Marlow, I know you have a burden. The King is coming to your city – let Him carry it. It’s the only way you will make it. But don’t wait. You should go with the King now, because one day it will be too late. You need Him to help you along the road; you can’t make it to His castle without Him. As you’re trekking over the mountain to the other side, don’t look back. You don’t need reminders of what you left behind. Keep your eyes ahead, constantly fixed on the destination. Many of us eagerly wait for you to arrive here. We will fight together against the enemy and endeavor to bring more lost people into His castle.
I have sworn all my loyalty to the King. I know that although the battle will be hard, painful, and sometimes I’ll want to give up, so long as I am serving Him, it will all be worth it.
With love from your dear friend,
Percaya
Isaiah 1:4,18 NLT
Oh, what a sinful nation they are – loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the Lord. They have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on Him. “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes of Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
James 1:2-4 NLT
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
